A “Smoky” morning on the way up to Clingmans Dome. At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is Great Smoky Mountains National Park's highest point. It is the highest point in Tennessee, and the second highest point east of the Mississippi. Only North Carolina's Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet) rises higher.

 Established in 1925, Ely's Mill is family owned and operated. Built by Andrew Jefferson Ely, Ely's Mill now offers a unique craft and antique shop. A. J. Ely, known as "Old Man Ely," was a Yale law school graduate, a practicing Tennessee lawyer and a printer. This photo was taken near the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
